Local Tunnels Support

Need to test localhost, an internal staging server, behind VPN, firewalls, or intranet?

Get started:

  1. Download ngrok and extract the ZIP file
  2. Open a terminal or command prompt and cd to the ngrok executable
  3. Run ./ngrok http -host-header=site.com https://site.com

Ngrok will start and print something like:

Session Status                online
Version                       2.3.35
Region                        United States (us)
Web Interface                 http://127.0.0.1:4040
Forwarding                    http://bbc4c8019493.ngrok.io -> https://site.com:443
Forwarding                    https://bbc4c8019493.ngrok.io -> https://site.com:443

Copy the forwarding URL (for example https://bbc4c8019493.ngrok.io) and paste it into the browser's address bar in your Assistiv Labs session.

localhost

You can simply run ./ngrok http <PORT>, where PORT is the port serving your local server.

For example, ./ngrok http 3000 will expose http://localhost:3000.
